The unit powers on, and the display, camera and controls function. Fibre ends are visible on the screen. During testing, the automatic alignment and splicing process was unreliable. In some cases, the unit initiated the arc before completing alignment. In other cases, it failed to detect the fibres correctly and pushed them together, causing them to break. There is also some rubber deterioration on both fibre clamps. Refer to photos. Sold as defective or for repair. Splice quality, calibration and measurement accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
